We took a break from Marvel to bring you a reimagining of how the Simian Flu decimated humanity and led to the planet of the apes. Taking place after Rise and before Dawn, consider this a Planet of the Apes 1.5.
Blaming the leak on Hyrda, Marvel Studios went ahead and released the HD version of their first official trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, which was slated to air during next week’s episode of S.H.I.E.L.D.
While it’s a bit like opening your presents before Christmas morning, it’s hard to say that I’m not super excited for the first look and a darker Avengers movie that looks certain to please fans and kick ass at the box office.
The creepy music and James Spader‘s voice raises the hair on my neck every time I hear it! #nostrings
Our fan-made trailer got pretty close to Marvel’s- Spader’s voice is almost exact and we even had a Hulk vs Iron Man scene #humblebrag.
But now that the official trailer is here, it’s time to mark your calendars for May 2015 and get ready to assemble!
First we turned Assassin’s Creed Black Flag into a live-action trailer and now we’re taking Paramount Picture’s Hercules and making it a Disney cartoon. So which tale of Zeus’s son reins supreme? Looks like The Rock is the box office champion as 2014’s live-action version took in just under $30k opening weekend and the mighty Mickey Mouse earned just over $20k back in 1997. Perhaps the two films should just combine? We thought so too!
As the 2014 AFIDOCS Film Festival comes to a close, An Honest Liar walks away with the Audience Award for Best Feature Film. Directed by Justin Weinstein and Tyler Measom, the film follows James “The Amazing” Randi as he devotes himself to exposing con artists like faith healers and psychics as complete frauds. An accomplished magician himself, The Amazing Randi is a true professional who believes the craft and art of deception should be used to entertain and never extort.
The ever-growing festival of non-fiction is back for it’s 12th year as it continues to become one of the most popular and prestigious documentary film festivals in the U.S. Luckily for us living in the DMV, the week-long celebration of 84 films from 22 countries is right in our backyard. Here’s what we’re most excited about!

It’s been a while here at the Kibitzers since we brought you one of our mashup trailers. We hope you’ve missed them as much as we have. This time we thought we’d revisit the origin story of a classic Marvel supervillian, Dr. Doom.
Throwing out the crummy storyline from 2005’s Fantastic Four, Victor Von Doom was born in the European country of Latveria to gypsies. His mother is killed for being a witch and young Victor and his father head out into the wilderness of their war-torn country. Left all alone when Papa Doom succumbs to the elements, little Vickie grows up in a harsh world that turns his soul. Seeking enlightenment and power from an ancient monastery, Doom dawns his armor (and I guess power?) to carry out his evil plot for world dominance.
So maybe there’s a few holes in our storyline but must we remind you this a fan-made trailer?
Still, a lot better than Julian McMahon’s character, right?
