While we’re still waiting to watch Ultron cut his strings from The Avengers, let’s skip ahead to 2017 when we get the next stand-alone movie for Marvel‘s favorite demigod.
Kevin Feige confirmed that Thor‘s third film will pick up immediately following the events of Age of Ultron. Presumably taking place back in Asgard where Loki is masquerading as Odin, we think this where Thanos gets his hands on the the infinity gauntlet and starts his villainous quest as Marvel’s mad titan.
Somehow Odin’s ancient immortal enemy Surtur is released as he uses his powerful sword, Midnight, to bring about Ragnarok or Armageddon .
Finally we get to see the Thor trailer that debuted at Comic-Con. Thor is one of my favorite Marvel superheros – don’t you screw this up Hollywood.
Synopsis: This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
Iron Man 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies coming out this year. But, with the movie coming out this Friday, May 7, one question still remains, which Marvel character will make a cameo appearance?
In the first Iron Man, we were introduced to Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson. Ever since then, Marvel has stressed that they will put in a cameo of a Marvel character in each movie to promote the fact that the Marvel Universe is connected; a.k.a, they’re introducing each character associated with The Avengers before its release in 2012. So to me, they’ll be focusing more on introducing the Avengers and making sure that story arc works by using these other films. So let’s go and explore the possibilities:
The Incredible Hulk
In The Incredible Hulk, Tony Stark makes an appearance and mockingly asking General Ross about the “unusual problem” he had. He then also mentions that there is a “team” being assembled. Also, the Hulk is essential to the creation of The Avengers. In the first Avengers comic, Loki, the Norse god of mischief, tricked the Hulk into destroying a railroad track. After a brief altercation, Iron Man, the Hulk, Ant Man, and Thor, banded together to create the Avengers. But because of the fight the Hulk had with his soon to be allies, some have suggested that the Hulk be a bad guy in the Avengers movie. Perhaps, he can show up in this movie and create some problems Iron Man can’t fix alone?
Who else do we think will make a cameo appearance? Keep reading to find out!
Um, let me just get this out of the way before I continue.
ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG *SQUEEL*
Alright, now that that’s done, straight from Yahoo! Movies, here is the first picture of Star Trek star, Chris Hemsworth as the Norse god of thunder, Thor.
I see they’ve gone with Thor’s modern look with this movie, which I’m very ok with. Also, with such an impressive cast, including Stellan Skarsgård, Natalie Portman, and Anthony Hopkins, this movie can’t go wrong, right?
Thor is scheduled to be released in May 2011.
