October 10th – Thursday Night Football TIME (8:25 PM ET)
New York Giants at Chicago Bears
Andrew – Dah Bearas. I still think the Giants aren’t AS bad as everyone says they are, but boy they are are making it difficult to argue against. If the Bears defense can ball hawk as well as they have been, then Eli Manning could be in for yet another rough game.
Greg – Chicago. I don’t know if anyone can make an argument that the Giants will win this game.
Genesis – Bears. Unfortunately, I don’t see the Giants winning this one either. I think they’ll keep it close, but the Bears will find a way to win this one. There is just no fire in the Giants’ offense or defense – so there miiight be a coaching change there soon.
October 13th – Early Afternoon Games (1:00 PM ET)
Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills
Andrew – Cincinnati. I actually think this game will be pretty close, or at least closer than it might have been last year, however Buffalo is a tough team to pick, even at home, against what should be a better all around team. I expect Dalton to bounce back and keep this game out of reach in the second half.
Greg – Cincinnati. Big win for them last week, but they still could only muster 13 points. Dalton seems to take a step back every week. That being said,I still take them over Buffalo.
Genesis – Bengals. This team is actually more impressive than a lot of people (a lot of people = me) give them credit for. The Bengals defense stepped up big against Brady. And with EJ Manuel out, I see a lot more interceptions happening again against the Bill’s backup QB/practice squad QB.
Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns
Andrew – Detroit. I’m still confused by the Browns, the defense hasn’t played as well as I might like, but otherwise, they have been surprising on offense since making their big changes…. until Hoyer got injured, don’t really see them standing at chance at this point.
Greg – Detroit. With all the quarterback changes happening with the Browns, I don’t see how they can maintain a normal offense — especially to keep up with the Lions.
Genesis – Lions. So, I was pretty wrong with this team last week. Woof. But, the Browns aren’t the Packers and they didn’t come off of a bye, so, logically they should win, right?
Oakland Raiders at Kansas City
Andrew – Kansas City. Oakland on the road + the way Kansas City has been handling themselves on both side of the ball, should make this a straightforward pick.
Greg – Kansas City. Pretty much exactly what Andrew said.
Genesis – Chiefs. Even though the Raiders have been playing pretty decent ball, the Chiefs will continue their undefeated streak. It’ll come to an end, but just not this week.
Carolina Panthers at Minnesota Vikings
Andrew – Minnesota Vikings. I thought that the Panthers had something going for them, but then they lose to Arizona after their bye. Despite the Vikings having some suspect players at QB, this should be a decent game for them…
Greg – Minnesota. Cassel still gets the start — and I think that might be a good thing. Wouldn’t be surprised if Cam had a breakout game this week though.
Genesis – Vikings. Panthers are struggling and the Vikings are coming off of a bye. Both of these 1 – 3 teams will show the world how underwhelming they can be. MN wins by like 2 field goals or something stupid.
Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Andrew – Philadelphia Eagles. Don’t see the Buccaneers keeping up with the Eagles scoring abilities. I am interested to see if Nick Foles plays as well as he did against the Giants, if he does play… not sure what the deal is with that so I’m shreepy.
Greg – Philadelphia. No one likes you Tampa Bay. No one.
Genesis – Eagles. The Buccs will continue their downward spiral against the Eagles this Sunday. This game is going to mimick the Eagles vs Redskins game from week one, with the Eagles putting up massive points on the board and the Buccs trying to play catch up, and it will end the same way – an Eagles win.
Green Bay Packers at Baltimore Ravens
Andrew – Green Bay. I don’t understand what the Ravens are doing, but I’m about to chalk this up as a rebuilding year.
Greg – Green Bay. You know maybe the Ravens will figure things out a bit more as the season goes on, but right now it’s a pretty vanilla offense and rough defense going up against one of the best offenses in Green Bay.
Genesis – Packers. So far, the success of the Ravens has been a toss up. Sometimes they’re great and other times, Joe Flacco looks like a muppet that has no distinction between teammate and defender. I think the Ravens will fall to 3 – 3 as Rodgers throws up massive points. Oh, and Flacco will get picked off.
St. Louis Rams at Houston Texans
Andrew – Houston Texans. Houston should right the ship, for at least this game.
Greg – Houston. Only because things can’t get much worse for them right?
Genesis – Rams. I actually think the Rams will get the upset win here. Houston looked stupid, scoring only a field goal in the third. No, the Rams aren’t the 49ers and by no means are they a good team, but I think they’ll find some weird way to win. I honestly have no idea how because I don’t know who’s on that team.
Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Jets
Andrew – Jets. I…. don’t know about the Steelers, but… the Jets should be feeling good and if their defense keeps it up, they could win out a squeeker.
Greg – Pittsburgh. No. No. Stop Jets. No.
Genesis – Jets. Another upset game. The Steelers have been struggling, but the bye week could make a difference. Then again, the Jets are riding high off of a win against the Falcons (ya’ll are some BUTT, Falcons). I can see the Jets’ defense doing well against the struggling Steelers offense.
October 6th – Late Afternoon Games (4:00 PM ET)
Jacksonville Jaguars at Denver Broncos
Andrew – Denver. I would be surprised if the Jaguars even showed up.
Greg – Denver. This could be crazy.
Genesis – Broncos. I mean.
Tennessee Titans at Seattle Seahawks
Andrew – Seattle. Seattle at home.
Greg – Seattle. I think the Titans will put up a good fight in this one, but ultimately have to go with the ‘hawks at home.
Genesis – Seahawks. The loss last week proves the fact that the ‘hawks lose when they play away. And when the Seahawks win mightely against the Titans this week, it’ll prove that they can’t be beat at home.
New Orleans Saints at New England Patriots
Andrew – New England Patriots. Danny & Gronk back and Patriots at home should mean success.
Greg – New Orleans. Close game, will come down to the wire. Patriots defense will keep them in it. The Saints offense is just too much right now, and even with players come back for New England, I don’t think they have enough to keep up. Best chance for the Pats to win is get their ground game going and control the clock.
Genesis – Saints. What’s an endzone, AMIRIGHT?! But seriously, that was terrible. I think the Saints will be putting up massive points against the Pats. If it were the Pats from last year, I’d say we’re in for a shootout. But unfortunately, I think the only offense we’ll be seeing is from Cool Brees and the gang.
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers
Andrew – San Francisco. Division games are always interesting, but not when San Francisco is at home. Should handle their business.
Greg – San Francisco. I think San Fran wins this one easy.
Genesis – 49ers. The Cardinals are playing pretty well, but I don’t see the succeeding against the ‘9ers defense. Just cover Fitzgerald and you’ll be alright, guys.
October 6th – Sunday Night Football (8:30 PM ET)
Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys
Andrew – Dallas. I would love for the Redskins to win, but the defense won’t be able to stop Tony Romo to save their life, or Jimmy Haslett’s job.
Greg – Dallas. Have you seen the Redskins play lately? It’s pretty sad. Sure, they’ll be hyped for this “rivalry” game on SNF, but there is no way they can keep up with the Cowboy’s offense.
Genesis – Redskins. UPSET ALERT!! This is the week where the Skins are back to their 2012 form. Yes, Dallas has been playing great ball recently (and putting up 48 points against the Broncos, what??!!), so there’s a big big chance that Romo can do the same thing again against the terrible terrible Redskins secondary. But I think RG3, Alf, Garcon, and the rest of the offense will click this week. Skins win by a field goal.
October 7th – Monday Night Football (8:30 PM ET)
Indianapolis Colts at San Diego Chargers
Andrew – Indianapolis Colts. I know they’re not the same at the road, but San Diego is too inconsistent for me to bet on.
Greg – San Diego. I almost picked the Colts, but I’m going with the Chargers as the home team here.
Genesis – Colts. The Chargers are another team that’s just weird and their success is always a toss up. They’re either impressive or they lose to the Raiders. Luck to T.Y. Hilton all day.
•Bye: Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins
