Atlanta Falcons at Detroit Lions 8:30 PM

Andrew – Atlanta. *starts slow clap* Ladies and gentlemen, the various ways the Lions have found to lose games is down right impressive, let’s all give them the round of applause not that they deserve, but the one that they need. But seriously, the Lions just can’t seem to get anything right this year and heads will roll because of it. Atlanta on the other hand sent a message to the rest of the league with their stomping of the Giants… would love to see them string together back to back games of that caliber to give some hope to their playoff chances.

Greg – Atlanta. Well done Falcons, you shut me up! It seems they are on their way to a playoff push — one that should be difficult, but nonetheless, when the Falcons are clicking on offense, they are nearly impossible to stop. This one could be a shootout — which could be fun for all of us!

Sunday, December 23rd

New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys 1:00 PM

Andrew – Dallas Cowboys. Hate to admit it, but the Cowboys have proved they are extremely resilient this year, impressively so. I imagine this will be a crazy game with lots of lead changes and some impressive last minute heroics by Tony Romo to save the day…. but the fanboy in me hopes more than anything that the Cowboys show up flat and the Saints trounce them.

Greg – Dallas. This is a tough game. The Cowboys are very good in December and are fighting for a playoff spot. The Saints are coming off a huge destruction of the Bucs — but for some reason I can’t pick them. Maybe it’s just because they are irrelevant for the first time in a while? I don’t know, but I still think the Cowboys pull this one out with the help of their secondary.

Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers 1:00 PM

Andrew – Green Bay. Not much to say here, tough road game for the Titans and I imagine that the Packers will do everything they can to steal the first round bye from San Fran (they probably won’t catch up to Atlanta).

Greg – Green Bay. The Titans struggled last week offensively against the Jets — if they struggle AT ALL against the Packers, it’s a blow out.

Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs 1:00 PM

Andrew – Indianapolis. Not much to say on this one either. Even if Luck throws a couple more interceptions, I still don’t see the Chiefs putting up enough points to win it.

Greg – Indianapolis. Yeah I don’t see the Chiefs being able to muster much here. They were shut out against the Raiders last week, maybe Luck can actually show up for the first half this time?

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins 1:00 PM

Andrew – Buffalo. Torn a bit on this game. Both teams are less than impressive, but I have more faith in the Buffalo offense than I do the Dolphins so… there’s that.

Greg – Miami. Buffalo never fares too well traveling down to Miami in the heat. So I’m just going with that. Did you know these two teams are still in the playoff hunt? And if Miami wins this week and beats the Patriots next week, (with some help), they could be in the AFC playoffs. Wow. Awful.

More picks after the jump!

San Diego Chargers at New York Jets

Andrew – San Diego. I mean, there’s no way the guy who’s name I had to google (Greg McElroy) is going to win this, right? Man… could you imagine if they did… I wonder if that means San Diego would just deregulated?

Greg – San Diego. I cannot pick the Jets this week. I thought about it too. There is just way too much going on up there. What a mess. The Charger better CRUSH them, but since they’re the Chargers, this game will be close.

Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles

Andrew – Washington. I know the Eagles would love to play spoiler here, but I think they have bigger fish to fry. I’m under the impression that the Eagles are starting a lot of back ups, using this time to evaluate personal moving forward. While Nick Foles certainly is playing better than the first game he played against the Redskins, I still think the rest of the team either won’t have the motivation, or will lack the talent needed to contain the Redskins offense, no matter who starts.

Greg – Washington. The Eagles are wrapping up their season, just trying to duck their heads and get out of there. While the Redskins got really lucky last week against the Browns (you guys know Cousins isn’t a starting qb in the NFL right?) — I still have to go with the hot hand of the ‘Skins. Even if RG3 doesn’t start, I think the Redskins have a strong enough ground game to make some plays. Look for a close game though, a key turnover late will decide it.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers 1:00 PM

Andrew – Cincinnati. Not a comfortable pick, but the Steelers can’t stop dropping games that they could easily win. The Bengals defense is playing better and if Andy Dalton and AJ Green have any success against the Steelers secondary, they should be able to win it.

Greg – Pittsburgh. This team should have 11 wins. Instead they find themselves struggling just to make the playoffs! Their record doesn’t show how good they CAN actually be. Whether or not that good team comes out to play will be decided Sunday. I believe that good team does come out, knowing they are fighting for the playoffs here. The Bengals looked a lot like the Bengals of old last week — just boneheaded plays left and right. Anything like that, and the Steelers capitalize.

St. Louis Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00 PM

Andrew – Tampa Bay. So…. uh…. Tampa Bay…. you gonna lock that shit up and show up this week!? How about it, huh?! That was embarrassing, to say the least but at least they should be able to bounce back against the Rams at home. Get it together, Tampa!

Greg – Tampa Bay. Wow, that was embarrassing last week. But I believe they will rebound and be able to beat the Rams, who once again are limping to the finish line.

Oakland Raiders at Carolina Panthers 1:00 PM

Andrew – Carolina. Tough game for Oakland to travel across the country for, once again. I anticipate Cam Newton having success against the suspect Raiders defense.

Greg – Carolina. Cam Newton is on a TEAR these past few games. The Raiders were only able to muster 14 points against the CHIEFS last week. So look for this to be a blowout.

New England Patriots at Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00 PM

Andrew – New England. Jaguars are the worst team in the league, no way they win this. Also, this New England schedule is surprisingly easy for a team that plays in the Super Bowl almost every other year.

Greg – New England. While the potential for a trap game is there, still think Pats win easy.

Minnesota Vikings at Houston Texans 1:00 PM

Andrew – Houston. I hope Adrian Peterson continues the success he has had over the past couple weeks, because that has been absolutely unreal, and extremely beneficial to my Fantasy Football team (championship game!) but, as has been my motto all year, if the Vikings fall too far behind they will not be able to catch up with Christian Ponder playing QB.

Greg – Minnesota. This is my wildcard pick of the week. I really like what Minnesota has been doing. Give offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave a TON of credit for guiding this team through the season and surprising everyone after last year. This should be a hard fought game, but if anything can slow down Houston’s pass rush, it’s a strong running game from AP.

Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos 4:05 PM

Andrew – Denver. Captain Kirk absolutely spanked the Browns defense, I imagine Peyton Manning will do the same, don’t you!?

Greg – Denver. Wow this team cannot lose right now. Potential trap game I guess? But isn’t every game against the Browns a potential trap game?

Chicago Bears at Arizona Cardinals 4:25 PM

Andrew – Chicago. The Bears finally get a breather, if the offensive line holds up, this should be a game that they can regroup on and get a nice road win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Greg – Chicago. Totally whiffed on my pick last week against the Cardinals — but I cannot see a scenario in which they win this game. Time to get your head right Bears.

New York Giants at Baltimore Ravens 4:25 PM

Andrew – Baltimore. I’m hoping a healthy Terrell Suggs and Ray Lewis bolster the slumping Ravens into a win over the Giants (unlike the bolster I was hoping for with the change of the Offensive Coordinator). Both teams will be looking to prove themselves, so it should be a tough gritty battle of stout defenses, so the first offense to show up, will probably win.

Greg – New York Football Giants. Time for the Giants to get things together for the playoffs. What better way to start than playing a Ravens team that has no idea how to run an offense! I think the Giants get after Flacco early and rattle him into a few mistakes. Also, it’s been awhile since Eli had a great game —  I’ll call that too.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks 8:20 PM

Andrew – San Francisco. If Alex Smith were still the starting QB for the 49ers, I’d definitely give the edge to the Seahawks here, but Colin Kaepernick has captured my attention, so I’ll be in his corner until he absolutely shits the bed… which could be this game, against a tough Seahawks defense…in a hostile environment….Great! Now, I’m torn. But, seriously, I think the 49ers defense will keep Russell Wilson in check and as long as Kaepernick doesn’t throw a several pick 6s, the 49ers should be good here.

Greg – Seattle. This is a tough one, but should be a great game. If Russell Wilson can pull this one off, rookie of the year is his. The 49ers came out super strong against the Pats, but then after a few halftime adjustments, were lucky to survive. The Seahawks defense is much better than the Pats, so I think that should give the 49ers more problems. Plus, who goes into Seattle and wins? No one does. No one.
