Week 3 NFL Predictions!

Week 3

Thursday, September 20th 8:20 PM

New York Giants at Carolina Panthers

Andrew – Carolina Panthers. The Giants have been struggling hard at home while dealing with injuries to their defense, so I can only imagine that it will worse for them on the road with injuries to their offense as well!

Greg – Carolina. pretty sure the Giants will win this game, but I just love me some Cam.

Sunday, September 23rd

St. Louis Rams at Chicago Bears 1:00 PM

Andrew – Chicago Bears. The Bears woeful performance in Green Bay against the Packers which included an ankle injury to Matt Forte, shouldn’t get Rams fans (if there are any) excited. On that same token, Sam Bradford’s performance against the Redskins also shouldn’t get Rams fans excited. The Redskins defense (‘s coordinator to be specific) shit the bed, and gave soft coverage all day to Sammy B. I think the Bears will recognize when they need to change and adapt to keep the Rams out of this one.

Greg – Da Bears.

More picks after the jump!

Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns 1:00 PM

Andrew – Buffalo Bills. The Browns have been able to hang tough in some difficult games early on, with Trent Richardson proving he can play at an elite level in the NFL and their defense making a stand, they certainly could be a force in a year or two, but for now I don’t think they’ll be able to stop CJ Spiller and Fitzpatrick. I think it’ll be close, but look for a Bill win.

Greg – Buffalo Bills.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys 1:00 PM

Andrew – Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys should yo-yo all season, this will be their bounce back from the Seahawks game.

Greg – Dallas. Struggled with this pick. Bucs defense has been pretty great so far. will definitely give Romo problems. Just taking the home team in Dallas, coming off a tough loss last week.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins 1:00 PM

Andrew – New York Jets. The Dolphins dominated that game against the Raiders, which they should feel good about, but I don’t think they’ll get as much of a lackluster effort from the Jets defense. With New England losing last week, this remains a key divisional game for both teams.

Greg – Miami. I don’t know what to expect from either of these teams. While Revis is back, just feel like Miami is getting things going.

San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings 1:00 PM

Andrew – San Francisco. San Fran seemingly has it all, tough defense, efficient offense, and way too much of both for the Vikings to come out of this game alive.
Greg – San Francisco.

Kansas City Chiefs  at New Orleans Saints 1:00 PM

Andrew – New Orleans Saints. Hmm… the Saints clearly are struggling without their defensive players and head coach(es), but they have to win this home game right? RIGHT!?

Greg – New Orleans. Lock game.

Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Redskins 1:00 PM

Andrew – Cincinnati Bengals. Nothing would please me more than for RGIII to win his home debut… but with the injuries on defense, and the seemingly lack of secondary coverage, the Bengals receiving corp (aka AJ Green) should have a field day. The only thing that really gives me hope is RGIII’s play making ability.

Greg – Cincinnati. Not sure if the Redskins will be able to slow the Bengals down.

Detroit Lions at Tennessee Titans 1:00 PM

Andrew – Detroit Lions. The Titans have struggled mightly on offense, and no Chris Johnson, it’s not alllll your fault, but maybe if you weren’t a total turd it would help. The Lions still seem to have some kinks to work out… but they should be fine in this game.

Greg – Detroit.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts 1:00 PM

Andrew – Indianapolis Colts. Both teams lack defense (although the Jaguars should get better down the road), but the real issue here is quarterback play – Andrew Luck can do it, ol’ Gabby can’t. My only hiccup here is that this is pretty much a must win for the Jaguars, so look for a close game.

Greg – Indianapolis.

Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals 4:05 PM

Andrew – Philadelphina Eagles. Remember when the Eagles won two games, despite Michael Vick throwing 6 interceptions, and the team fumbling another 3 times? Well, what’s more surprising than that is that the Cardinals beat New England in Foxborough. Definitely didn’t see that coming. A surprising 2-0 match up, I think the Eagles walk with this one on the road. If they stop turning the ball over, they will extremely difficult to beat.

Greg – Philadelphia. Getting better every week.

Atlanta Falcons at San Diego Chargers 4:05 PM

Andrew – Atlanta Falcons. Another match up between 2-0 teams, although maybe this time it’s not so surprising. Once again, I don’t think the Chargers have an answer for both Julio Jones and Roddy White, so until something changes there, I’m picking the Falcons.

Greg – San Diego. Of course they didn’t sell this game out though.

Houston Texans at Denver Broncos 4:25 PM

Andrew – Houston Texans. The Falcons sure did mess with Peytons head in the first half. After he got back on track, it was much more of a game, but I don’t know if the Texans will allow him to do that. I’m going with the  tougher grittier team with more offensive fire power.

Greg – Houston

Pittsburgh Steelers at Oakland Raiders 4:25 PM

Andrew – Pittsburgh Steelers. I’d be surprised to see the Steelers struggle here.

Greg – Oakland. cross country trip!

New England Patriots at Baltimore Ravens 8:20 PM

Andrew – Baltimore Ravens. Big time game. Patriots seemed to really struggle without Aaron Hernandez, and they certainly won’t get a break from the Ravens defense. The revamped Ravens offense looks mighty good, so I’m expecting a different result then the AFC championship.

Greg – New England.

Monday, September  24th 8:30 PM

Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks

Andrew – Green Bay. Originally this was my lock of the week, but I recently second guessed myself. The Seahawks defense is solid, especially at home. So while I still expect the Packers to win… I don’t think it will be nearly as easy as it once was.

Greg – Green Bay.
