Monday Music Madness: “Misery” – Maroon 5 & “Right On (feat. Joanna Newsom & S.T.S.)” – The Roots

Misery – Maroon 5

I know, I know – now before you say anything, let me just say that this song isn’t bad. Maroon 5 has been off the map for a while now, but they’ve come back with a new single, ‘Misery‘ that sounds like their typical funk-pop. In true Maroon 5 fashion, this song will get stuck in your head, at least it did with me. Plus, it’s a “fun Summer song” (ugh can’t believe I just said that). So check it out below.:

The Fire (feat. John Legend) – The Roots

Let’s get one thing straight here, The Roots are awesome. Whether it’s playing one of their amazing live shows or covering ‘Straight Outta Compton’ with Ice Cube, this hip-hop band can do just about anything. When they’re not busying performing as the house band for Jimmy Fallon’s show, these guys are making incredible music. Take ‘Right On,’ for example. This song is so funky it hurts. The beat is tight and the rapping is smooth. Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself:

California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg) [Passion Pit Remix] – Katy Perry

You might have heard this little song going around by the name of California Gurls.’ Well apparently Passion Pit didn’t think it was good enough, so they did something about it. R-R-R-R-REEEEMIIIXX. Passion Pit got their electro-pop goodness all over this song and the result is an even catchier version of the song, perfect for the club or your own personal rave party in your room with your cat. Strobe lights on, everyone, the party just got started.:

Like this song? Passion Pit’s album, Manners is available on iTunes and Katy Perry’s new album, Teenage Dream, drops this August.
