Tightrope (feat. Big Boi) – Janelle Monáe

Expect a lot of good things from this girl. I’ve had my eye on her for a while, but after she made her television debut on Late Show with David Letterman a couple of nights ago, I felt like it was time to get the word out on this artist. Janelle Monáe is one of the most unique and exciting new artists that have come out in a while. She’s a breathe of fresh air from the common 808 beats and auto-tune filled songs. Backed by a live band instead of a computer and a producer, her songs remind you of songs from the Motown era. She kinda reminds me of a young, female – James Brown. Check out “Tightrope (feat. Big Boi)” and you can make the call:

Gettin’ Over You (feat. Chris Willis, Fergie & LMFAO) – David Guetta

I think by now, David Guetta is pretty much a “household” name. At least, I think so. I mean, after the awesome song that is “Sexy Chick” (or B*tch, depending on who you ask), he’s pretty much known for making catchy songs. Whether it’s with Akon or Kid Cudi, David Guetta sure knows how to make a beat.  “Gettin’ Over You” has a ridiculous beat. And with featured artists, Chris Willis, Fergie, & LMFAO, this song should be on your party mix or power hour – that’s only if you really want your party to start. So check it out:

So that Fergie one is a remix – with the same lyrics?
