Your Thursday Mixtape – Vol I

22 Apr

If there’s one thing that we love here – it’s music. New music seems to come out every single day – and after our Monday Music Madness weekly, what are you supposed to do the rest of the work week? Well you can listen to these tracks on here (and then go buy their album and support the artists!). I will try to keep it eclectic; dance, rap, indie, etc. This is a way for you to discover new music, reminisce about your childhood music, or just listen to get through the day.

The Cataracs are a band from California, they are 2 white guys who have a dancey/hip hop sound to them. In this track, they cover and take “Ice Cream Paint Job” to an acoustic style. [iTunes]

The Cataracs – Ice Cream Paint Job Acoustic

Deluka are a British electro/rock four piece from Birmingham. This track is extremely catchy and is dominated by synths throughout it. [Amazon]

Deluka – Cascade

The Kid Daytona is a new up and coming rapper from Brooklyn. Up tempo beats are throughout his tracks. Head over to his site and download the full mixtape for free!

Even more goodies after the jump!

B.o.B. doesn’t need an introduction, he has blown up out of no where and is now just about everywhere! Check out his new track with Eminem. [Buy here]

B.o.B. – Airplanes pt. 2 f. Eminem & Hayley Williams

Passion Pit is really good – as seen in our “Next Big Band” special post. So good that I couldn’t keep them out of our first mixtape. 2nd favorite track off the album. [Buy here]

Passion Pit – Little Secrets

The New Boyz came onto the scene with their catchy song “Teach Me How to Jerk,” well they have another single calling out the haters on “skinny jeans.” While not musically talented really – this song is catchy. They like crickets to me! [Buy here]

New Boyz ft.Tyga – Cricketz

I’ll try to throw in one of these every mixtape – a fan favorite – mashups. This one is by Brenton Duvall combining Passion Pit and Lil’ Wayne.

Brenton Duvall – Ambien (Sleepy Trip)

Throwback Jam of the Week:

A song that needs no introduction.

Mark Morrison – Return Of The Mack
